UV treatment to disinfect water

A UV sterilizer passes the water in front of an ultraviolet lamp protected by a quartz tube. It treats water without adding any chemical, but it has no lasting effect: only the water passing the lamp is treated.

What to respect for proper operation

  • Clear water: fit a filter upstream, because particles can block the light.
  • Flow: choose a model whose maximum flow covers your installation.
  • Consumables: the lamp and quartz tube must be replaced or cleaned as per the instructions.

Frequently asked questions: UV sterilizers

Does a UV sterilizer filter the water?

No. It holds back no particles: it works by radiation. It is therefore combined with a filter that makes the water clear before it passes the lamp.

When should the lamp be changed?

The lamp loses efficiency with its running hours, even if it still lights up. Respect the service life given on the product page and clean the quartz tube regularly.

How do I choose the power and flow?

Each model is rated for a maximum flow (in litres per hour). Choose it according to the real flow of your installation and the quality of your water, using the product page.
