Can a water hose be used for compressed air?

No. Compressed air stores energy and a hose not designed for this use can burst. Use a hose designed for air, whose maximum pressure is stated on the product page.

How do I choose the hose length?

Take the length needed to reach your work area without stretching the hose, but no more: the longer it is, the more the pressure at the tool drops.

What precautions should I take when pressurising?

Check the condition of the hose and fittings, shut off the air before disconnecting and never aim the jet at a person. Follow your compressor's manual.
