A vertical tank to stabilise pressure

A vertical bladder or diaphragm tank contains an air cushion separated from the water. Combined with a pump, it limits frequent starts and smooths the network pressure. The vertical shape saves floor space.

Sizing it properly

  • Maximum pressure: 8.6 bar, 10 bar or more, depending on the model.
  • Volume: from a few tens to several hundred litres.
  • Booster kit: some tanks are offered with their connection for a submersible pump.

Frequently asked questions: Vertical pressure tanks

What is the air precharge for?

The tank's inflation pressure must be set according to the pump's start pressure. Check it with the tank drained of water, following the manufacturer's instructions.

What is the difference between bladder and diaphragm?

In both cases an elastic wall separates air and water. The bladder is a bag inside the tank, the diaphragm a fixed membrane. The product page states the type of each model.

Which volume should I choose?

It depends on the pump flow and the acceptable number of starts. A volume that is too small makes the pump start more often. Rely on the pump manufacturer's recommendations.
