Multi-stage under-sink purification

An under-sink purification kit combines several cartridges, installed on the cold water supply of the tap. Each stage has a role: retaining particles, acting on taste with activated carbon, then refining with an ultrafiltration membrane.

Maintaining the kit

The cartridges are consumables to be renewed regularly. Their life depends on water quality and consumption: follow the information on the product page and from the manufacturer.

What is in a purification kit?

It generally includes a particle filtration cartridge, an activated carbon pre-filter and post-filter, and an ultrafiltration membrane. Details are given on the product page.

Must all cartridges be changed at the same time?

Not necessarily: each cartridge has its own life. Follow the manufacturer's frequency, and replace first the one that is clogged, shown by a drop in flow.

Does an under-sink kit replace a reverse osmosis unit?

They are two different techniques. Ultrafiltration works with a fine-pore membrane, reverse osmosis with an even finer one. Compare the product pages to choose according to your need.
