Stainless threaded fittings for demanding circuits

Stainless steel threaded fittings (elbows, unions, Y-pieces, threaded nipples, nuts) join threaded pipework that resists corrosion. They suit water circuits, outdoor installations and many fluids, depending on the compatibility given on the product page.

316 or 316L stainless, male or female

  • 316 / 316L stainless: common grades for good corrosion resistance; check the product page for compatibility with your fluid.
  • Male (M) or female (F): to be chosen according to the connection direction.
  • Union: lets you take the line apart without moving the pipes.

Which sealing method should I use on a stainless thread?

Use a suitable sealant (PTFE tape or paste), without excess. Avoid over-tightening: stainless steel can gall. Follow the recommendations on the product page.

What is the difference between male and female fittings?

A male fitting has an external thread, a female fitting an internal thread. To join two parts, you need a male and a female of the same thread standard.

What is a union fitting for?

A union comes apart in three pieces, so you can remove a device (pump, valve, filter) without turning the pipework. It is useful wherever maintenance is expected.
