How do I fit couplings on a lay-flat hose sold by the metre?

Use couplings of the right diameter, fixed by clamp or by crimping depending on the coupling. For high pressure, properly done crimping is preferable.

What length of hose should I order?

Measure the real route between the pump and the point of use, then add a margin for detours and couplings. The longer the hose, the higher the pressure losses.
