Galvanised cast iron fittings for threaded piping

Threaded galvanised cast iron fittings join threaded pipes: elbows, tees, crosses, couplings, nipples and union fittings. The zinc coating protects the cast iron against rust, for water, air or watering networks depending on the product page.

Which part for which need?

  • Elbow: change of direction, long radius to limit pressure loss.
  • Tee and cross: branches to one or two lines.
  • Coupling and nipple: to extend or join two pipes.
  • Union: easy removal of a section of the network.

Frequently asked questions: Galvanised threaded fittings

What do M/F and F/F mean?

M is a male thread, F a female thread. M/F joins a male to a female; an M/M nipple joins two female parts.

What sealing should I use on the threads?

Use a product suited to the application (hemp, tape or paste), following the manufacturer's instructions and without over-tightening, so as not to crack the cast iron.

Can galvanised cast iron be combined with other metals?

In damp environments, contact between different metals can promote corrosion. An insulating coupling or a suitable fitting limits the risk.
