PVC pressure fittings: glue, screw, disconnect

PVC pressure fittings are used to build cold-water pressure networks: elbows, tees, couplings, adapters and unions. They are either solvent-weld onto the pipe or threaded to connect to threaded equipment.

Assembly tips

  • Gluing: pipe cut square, deburred and cleaned, then glue applied and assembled without delay.
  • Combined glue-and-thread fittings: handy for going from pipe to a pump or valve.
  • Union: lets you remove a piece of equipment without cutting the pipe.

Frequently asked questions: PVC pressure fittings

What do F/F, M/F and F/F/F mean?

F stands for a female end, M for a male end. F/F/F is a tee with three female outlets. Choose according to the ends to connect.

How long should I wait before pressurising?

Drying time depends on the glue and conditions. Respect the time given by the glue manufacturer before any pressure test.

Is pressure PVC suitable for hot water?

PVC is generally intended for cold water. Check the maximum temperature on the product page before any other use.
