The 20-inch Big Blue filter for higher flows

The Big Blue filter is a large-format housing, with a wider and longer bowl than a 10-inch filter. It suits installations requiring a higher flow or a greater dirt-holding capacity.

Choosing the cartridge

20-inch Big Blue cartridges come in 1, 5 and 10 microns. Choose the fineness according to the particles to hold back: the lower the figure, the finer the filtration and the faster the cartridge clogs.

What is the difference between a Big Blue and a 10-inch filter?

The Big Blue has a larger filtering volume, which holds more particles before clogging. Its cartridges are not interchangeable with those of a 10-inch housing.

Which micron rating should I choose?

A 10-micron cartridge holds back the largest particles, a 1-micron one the finest. You can combine them in several stages, from the coarsest to the finest.

When should the cartridge be changed?

When the flow or pressure drops, or at the frequency given by the manufacturer. Release the pressure from the filter before opening it.
