A brass strainer filter to protect the installation

A brass filter holds back the largest particles (sand, rust, debris) with a stainless steel screen. It is fitted upstream of a pump, a meter, an irrigation system or an appliance to prevent fouling.

Options to compare

  • Screen fineness: 100, 300 or 500 microns, as per the product page. The lower the figure, the finer the filter.
  • Flushing tap or self-cleaning function to simplify maintenance.
  • Pressure gauges: they show when the screen is clogging.

Frequently asked questions: Brass filters

What is a pressure gauge for on a filter?

Fitted before and after the screen, gauges show a growing pressure loss as the screen gets dirty. That is the signal to clean it.

How do I clean the screen?

Open the flushing tap or remove the screen after shutting off the water and releasing the pressure. Self-cleaning models simplify this step.

Which screen fineness should I choose?

A coarse screen protects against large debris and clogs more slowly; a finer screen holds back more but needs more frequent cleaning. Spare screens exist in 100 and 300 microns.
