Removing water from a worksite, a trench or a flooded cellar

Worksite pumps are sturdy and easy to move: submersible drainage or dewatering pumps, portable models, suction kits. They remove trench, rain or flood water, often loaded with sand or gravel.

What matters in the field

  • Free passage and wear resistance for dirty water.
  • Residual suction level: how close to the bottom the pump can empty.
  • Weight, handle and connection for quick handling and hook-up.

Frequently asked questions: Worksite pumps

Drainage pump or dewatering pump?

Drainage is about removing water continuously, dewatering about emptying standing water. The model name and the product page indicate the intended use.

Do I need a float or a level probe?

A float or probe allows automatic operation and prevents dry running. It is useful if the pump is left unattended; some models are fitted with one.

How do I choose the discharge hose?

Use a flexible hose of suitable diameter for the pump outlet, as short as possible, to limit head losses. The product page gives the outlet diameter.
