Supplying fire-fighting points with pressurised water
A fire-fighting booster set is a pumping unit designed to supply water to a building's equipment, especially RIA (hose reels) and PIA (foam additive fire points). It is chosen according to the flow required, from 8 to several dozen m³/h depending on the model.
What to check
- Type of equipment supplied: RIA, PIA or mixed installation.
- Flow and pressure required by the system to be served.
- Regulatory requirements of the building, to be confirmed with your design office or insurer.
Frequently asked questions: Fire-fighting booster sets
What is the difference between RIA and PIA?
The RIA is a hose reel supplied with water; the PIA is a foam additive fire point, using an additive for foam. The set is chosen according to the equipment supplied.
How do I choose the flow of the set?
The flow depends on the number of devices to supply and the installation's requirements. Consult your design office or the product page to confirm the choice.
Can I choose a set without professional advice?
For a fire safety system, advice from a qualified professional is recommended. Comply with applicable regulations and the manufacturer's instructions.
