Lay-flat hoses to set up an attack or supply line

A lay-flat fire hose can be flattened: when empty it rolls up and stores in little space; under pressure it inflates. Supplied crimped with its couplings, it is ready to connect to engine-driven pumps, hydrants, nozzles and valves.

What to check before ordering

  • Diameter (DN) suited to the flow you need.
  • Working pressure (PS) shown on each product page, to compare with your pump.
  • Coupling type (Guillemin, Storz, cam) compatible with your equipment.
  • Length needed to reach the area to protect.

Frequently asked questions: Lay-flat fire hoses

How do I choose the diameter of a lay-flat fire hose?

The larger the diameter, the higher the possible flow with fewer pressure losses. Choose it according to your pump, your nozzles and the distance to cover; the product page states the DN.

How do I store and maintain a lay-flat hose?

After use, rinse and dry the hose before rolling or folding it, and avoid dragging it over sharp edges. Check the couplings and the condition of the fabric regularly.

Can a lay-flat hose replace a suction hose?

No: a lay-flat hose is designed for delivery, under pressure. On the suction side you need a rigid or spiral-reinforced hose that does not collapse under the pump's vacuum.
