Fire-fighting equipment
This category brings together engine-driven pumps, boosters, delivery hoses, couplings, nozzles and the accessories needed for a fire defence installation, for private individuals, companies, farms and public bodies.
Flow, pressure and couplings: what to check
- Flow rate and pressure of the pump, suited to your nozzles and the length of your hoses.
- Type of couplings (Guillemin, Storz) compatible with your existing equipment.
- Water source: tank, pond, river or mains, with a suitable suction strainer.
A tip for public purchasing
Public bodies can order with an administrative order (mandat administratif), with invoicing through Chorus Pro.
Frequently asked questions: Fire-fighting equipment
Which engine-driven pump should I choose for fire fighting?
Choose the pump according to the flow and pressure your nozzles and the length of your hoses require. Portable pumps suit mobile interventions, trailer-mounted models suit large sites. The regulations that apply to your site (public building, classified installation, farm...) may set requirements: ask your insurer or your local fire and rescue service.
Guillemin or Storz couplings: are they compatible?
They are two different fire-hose coupling systems: they cannot be connected directly without an adapter. Check the coupling type of your existing equipment (pump, hoses, hydrants) before you order.
What is a fire booster used for?
A fire booster supplies an extinguishing network (hose reels, risers, hydrants) with the required flow and pressure when the mains pressure is not enough.
What equipment do I need besides the pump?
A fire-fighting installation usually includes delivery hoses, couplings, a suction strainer, nozzles and, depending on the case, a foam device. You can find this equipment in this category.
