A compact station for a home

A single-pump lift station combines a tank, a pump and accessories to remove water from a basement or a room located below the level of the sewer. It suits domestic use or a small building.

What to check

  • Connected appliances: toilet, washbasin, shower, washing machine.
  • Discharge height and distance.
  • Useful volume of the tank and free passage.

Lift station: one pump or two?

A lift station includes a sealed tank that receives the water, one or more pumps, a level control and a non-return valve. One pump suits a single discharge point and ordinary domestic use. Two pumps (two-pump stations) work in turn and the second takes over if the first fails or in case of heavy inflow: preferable when a failure cannot be tolerated. For small volumes: micro-stations. Frequently asked questions: Single-pump lift stations

Is one pump enough?

For ordinary domestic use, yes. If drainage must never stop, choose a two-pump station.

Can I connect a toilet?

It depends on the model: check that the station is designed for toilet waste and its free passage. The product page states this.

Do I need ventilation?

Yes, the tank must be ventilated according to the instructions and local rules. Also plan an access for maintenance.
