A battery-powered pump

12 V and 24 V diesel pumps connect to the battery of a vehicle, a machine or a truck. They are handy for refuelling right in the work area or transferring fuel from a drum or a tank. Some are supplied as kits with a hose and nozzle.

Installation points

  • Choose the voltage of your battery: 12 V or 24 V.
  • Follow the cable cross-section and protection recommended in the instructions.
  • Check the running time allowed without a break.

12 V or 24 V: how to choose?

Take the voltage of the battery the pump will be connected to: 12 V for most light vehicles, 24 V for many trucks and machines. Some models come in both versions.

What power consumption should I expect?

It depends on the motor power (in kW on the product page). To avoid draining the battery, keep the vehicle engine running during long transfers, if the instructions allow it.

Can the pump run dry?

No, avoid it: the pump could be damaged. Check that there is fuel left in the container and respect the maximum continuous running time given by the manufacturer.
