Battery-powered pumps

12 V and 24 V pumps run on the battery of a vehicle, a boat, a farm machine or a solar installation, with no 230 V socket. They are used to transfer water, diesel, oil or AdBlue, for watering and for emptying.

Selection criteria

  • Voltage: 12 V or 24 V, according to your battery.
  • Flow rate in litres per minute and discharge height.
  • Liquid: water, diesel, oil, AdBlue; check the material compatibility.
  • Use: intermittent or continuous, according to the duty cycle stated.

Frequently asked questions: 12V-24V pumps

12 V or 24 V: which one?

Choose the voltage of your battery: 12 V for most cars, boats and motorhomes, 24 V for many trucks and machines. A 12 V pump cannot be connected to 24 V, and the other way round.

How do I connect a 12 V or 24 V pump?

Connect it to the battery with a cable of the right cross-section for the current, a fuse and a switch. Respect the polarity and the instructions: a cable that is too thin heats up and reduces the flow.

Can a 12 V pump run continuously?

Many 12 V and 24 V pumps are designed for intermittent use: the manufacturer states the maximum running time. For long use, choose a model designed for continuous duty.

Can a 12 V diesel pump be used for petrol?

Not automatically. Petrol needs equipment designed for that liquid. Always check the compatible liquid on the product page.
