Use of a bar screen:
- Protection of waste water treatment plants and loaded water pre-treatment systems against the arrival of large objects that could block the installation.
- To separate and remove bulky matter carried by the effluent that could clog the pumps or disrupt the operation of the installation.
- The bar screen is installed upstream of settling digesters, septic tanks, and sewage lifting units and stations.
Installation:
- The unit will be installed outside the building and placed perfectly level.
- It will be buried away from any place where vehicles pass. Its lid will be at ground level and will remain easily accessible to allow maintenance.
- The bottom of the excavation will be perfectly flat and covered with 10 cm of sand.
- Backfilling will be done with sand and under no circumstances with stone or gravel.
- Where vehicles pass and where the lid cannot be at ground level, the unit must be fitted with a concrete slab resting on the edges of the excavation and incorporating a cast iron inspection cover, large enough to maintain full access. This slab will be calculated to withstand the imposed loads without resting on the unit.
The bar screen can be fitted with RH 2301 risers.
Specifications:
- 200 litre cylindrical tank in high-density polyethylene, fitted with a bar screen basket made of galvanised round iron bar, bar spacing 50 mm; the basket is removable, which makes cleaning easier.
