Floats and regulators to control a pump by level

A float switch or level regulator starts or stops the pump when the liquid rises or falls in a sump, a pit, a tank or a pond. The contact is operated by the float position, which follows the liquid level.

Choosing by liquid and use

  • Type of liquid: clean water, loaded or waste water, drinking water, chemicals or hydrocarbons.
  • Float and cable material, compatible with the liquid.
  • Cable length and adjustment of the switching height.

Frequently asked questions: Level detection

Which float for waste water?

A regulator designed for loaded water, with a smooth body and often an integrated weight, reduces snagging. The product page states the liquid it accepts.

Can I use a float with drinking water?

Only models designed for drinking water should be used. Check the product page for the food-contact conformity mention and follow the manual.

Do acids or hydrocarbons need a specific model?

Yes: choose a regulator whose materials are compatible with the product. In an explosive atmosphere, use only a model designated for it and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
