Electronic controls for surface pumps

Pump automation devices, often called electronic managers, combine a pressure switch, flow detection and dry-run protection in a single unit. They replace a traditional pressure switch and simplify the installation of a single-phase surface pump.

What to expect from a manager

  • Automatic start and stop of the pump according to water use.
  • Dry-run protection: the pump is cut when there is no water.
  • Start pressure that is adjustable or preset, depending on the model.

What is the difference from a pressure switch?

The electronic manager adds functions: flow detection, dry-run protection and automatic restart, depending on the model. The pressure switch only measures pressure.

Do I still need a bladder tank?

It depends on the model and the installation. Some devices limit starts on demand, others work with a small tank; check the manufacturer's manual.

How do I pick the right unit?

Check the supply voltage, the maximum current allowed and the connection size. These values are on the product page and must match your pump.
